We are proudly a CrossFit® gym.  We implement the CrossFit methodology of constantly varied, functional movements performed at (relative) high intensity across any and all programs on our roster. We simply put our own unique spin on how it’s delivered so that everything works towards a common goal - health & fitness. Each workout you complete at Shapesmiths is part of a complete program designed to develop your mind and body across the 10 General Physical Skills that make up fitness.

Remember your daily workout can be scaled/modified (adjusted) to provide a suitable challenge for people at ANY level. So, if you are new to CrossFit® please don’t worry! We got you covered! If you have been doing CrossFit for some time, we have the expertise to level you up, all within an amazing, supportive environment!

Engine: Barbell-Free Conditioning

Looking for a workout that builds fitness without the barbell or gymnastics movements? This class is designed to boost your engine, improve recovery from high-intensity training and refine movement with simple, effective exercises. Expect a mix of cardio, bodyweight work and light weights in a format that is easy to follow and scalable for all levels. You will get fitter, move better and leave with that “sweaty but accomplished” feeling every time.

GYMNASTICS

Gymnastics: …for CrossFit

Our gymnastics classes are built to help you master bodyweight skills that carry over directly into CrossFit® training. Each month focuses on a clear theme with structured progressions so you can steadily build confidence and ability. You will develop strength, control, balance and flexibility while learning how to move your body efficiently - whether that is on the rig, the rings or the floor. These sessions are open to all levels, from first pull-up to linking together multiple bar muscle ups.

OLYMPIC

WEIGHTLIFTING

A focused class designed to sharpen your technique and build confidence with the barbell. These sessions break down the snatch, clean and jerk into clear, manageable steps so you can lift with better form, more strength and greater consistency.  Open to all levels, from complete beginners to experienced lifters. Olympic Weightlifting is the perfect way to complement your CrossFit® training, improve barbell skills and hit new personal bests.

ENDURANCE

Hybrid Fitness, Shapesmiths Style. Our Endurance class is a 90-minute hit of running, rowing, cycling and functional movements. The focus is simple - using our methodology to build an engine for longer Hybrid Fitness Events. You will develop stamina, speed and the capacity to perform under fatigue, all while complementing your strength training. Perfect for anyone who wants the best of both worlds: strength and endurance, Shapesmiths style.

fUNCTIONAL

BODY BUILDING

The aim of this program is to improve motor control, build strength, develop muscle and boost overall functional capacity for everyday life. FBB is built on quality movement, controlled tempo and structured training cycles. By combining functional movements with proven bodybuilding techniques, these sessions help you move well, look good and perform better. Open to all levels, this program is the perfect complement to our CrossFit® classes and a great way to build a strong, capable body that feels as good as it looks.

THROWDOWN

This class is on every Saturday on the schedule.

With an extended run time of 90mins the classes allow dedicated time to the more advanced elements of CrossFit® and towards making FUNctional fitness competitions LESS SCARY. 

The class will focus on enhancing gymnastics and weightlifting skills and using them in partner and synchronised movement workouts. 

CROSSFIT

KIDS & TEENS

In CrossFit® Kids & Teens, we teach transferable life skills, working as part of a team and giving those that are not keen on the traditional sports (football, rugby, netball etc) another potential outlet to have fun and find something they are good at

MASTERS

Our online classes are designed for our older community (60+ y/o) who want to stay active, strong and connected, no matter their ability or location. Sessions focus on moving well, building strength and supporting everyday health and wellness.  What makes it special is the community itself. You will be training alongside people from across the world! England, Ireland, Scotland, South Africa, Germany, France and the USA…sharing encouragement, progress and friendships that go far beyond the class.

YOGA

Step into a world of zen and try something new!

Step into a calmer space and try something new. Our yoga classes run on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and blend Yin and Vinyasa styles to improve mobility, recovery and mental focus. They are ideal for CrossFitters who want to prevent injury and boost performance, beginners looking to build flexibility, or anyone who wants to balance strength training with mindful movement. All levels are welcome.

BUILDING

BETTER BONES

An online class for anyone who wants to build stronger bones, improve balance and move with more confidence. Sessions focus on safe strength work, posture, coordination and low-impact conditioning to support everyday life and overall wellbeing. Our community already includes more than 30 women who have seen real progress with their bone health, including those managing osteoporosis, osteopenia and rarer conditions such as pregnancy associated osteoporosis. Others join post-menopause, after cancer treatment or simply on the advice of their doctor. We would love men to join as well if they have similar concerns.
